Insane Weekend

Luis and I just had the craziest weekend ever! We attended 4 birthday parties on Saturday, three for kids and one adult party. I then had a baby shower on Sunday which took another 5 hour chunk out of my day.

I'm so glad we were able to see so many people but this is what our crazy schedule looked like on Saturday:

11:00 a.m. - Sophie's 1st birthday party
2:00 p.m. - Leave Sophie's party and drive to Highlands Ranch for the next party/nap for Luis in the car
3:00 p.m. - Lander's 2nd birthday party
5:00 p.m. - head to Ava's 2nd birhtday party in Parker/short nap for Luis
5:30 p.m. - Ava's party
7:45 p.m. - head to Jason's party in Westminster (55 miles from Meredith's in Parker!!!!!!!)
8:30 p.m. - Arrive at Jason's party
10:00 p.m. - Finally get Luis to fall asleep at Jason and Kara's party (I drifted off too for a bit, I was pooped)
11:30 p.m. - Leave Jason and Kara's to head home (FINALLY)
12:00 a.m. - Arrive home after being out and about for 13 hours
8:30 a.m. Sunday - We finally all wake up

The baby shower yesterday we very nice and had great food. It was nice to have a ladies afternoon because even though I love my guys I totally need a little time away nwo and then.

We are not doing anything this weekend, I need a chance to veg out and get stuff done around the house.

Back to work

Well, sadly I had to go back to work this week. I have what seems to be a great job and I'm excited for the options, I will be a supervisor of 20-30 work at home customer service agents. So although I am in the office, it's nice to not have to see any of my employees face-to-face. :O)

I miss Luis terribly so far, but I know that he could probably care less...if he has even noticed yet :O) I'm working crazy early hours also so that is going to take some getting used to, all in the effort to make sure Luis has health insurance while me still getting to spend some time with him.

He's walking

I figured it would happen soon enough, but Luis is really walking now. It is only 6 or 7 steps at a time, but technically that is walking. When he is done he claps for himself and then complains until I set him up to do it again.

I have a video of it, so I'll need to post again with his first foray into walking.

In the meantime here are some pictures from my birthday weekend, we had a great time. Oscar and I went to Melting Pot then the following weekend we had a dinner for Aunt Lanie, my party and the Rockies game on Sunday...it was a busy week!!

He is such a boy.

I swear it is like the "boyness" is in his DNA some days! Today he was being his usual daring self with resulted in one momma rescue to avoid crashing on the pavement and then a fall from the 2nd step onto tile. He is upset for a minute or two usually but then he just gets right back to being crazy.

I finally invested in baby gates today because my heart can't handle the trauma of near misses ten times per day!! I also had to get some cabinet locks so he stays out of the dish soap. :O)

We went to a play date today with my moms group and he man-handled a little girl while trying to use her to stand up, I know it was on accident but I still felt like the neglectful mom who wasn't watching her kid...oh well, this is only the first of many time I'll feel bad for how my kid acts!

Good intentions...

When I set up this blog page I had good intentions to start blogging frequenty about our family and most especially Luis, but between taking care of a teething boy and family visiting it just hasn't happened that way.

Luis is working on his 3rd and 4th teeth right now and its been a long, slow, painful process. He is a crawling machine and loves to stand at the bottom of the stairs and wave bye-bye to me.

While we had family in town we went to Estes and the Rockies game (just to name a few things) and here are some picture from those days.

Luis and I got his Halloween costume the other day and I couldn't wait for him to try it on. He was surprisingly patient and didn't get mad until after an hour or so when he started trying to pull it off. I can't wait to take him out trick-or-treating.

Long time no blog...

Wow, I can't believe Luis is 8 months old already...how time flies! I still love spending such great quality time with him, nothing beats getting paid to be a stay-at-home mom. I haven't loaded any pictures in a while so I'll throw in a couple of our stinky boy now that he is getting so big.

I need to be more on this...

I was so excited to start a blog and then I post one and don't post anything else for weeks...hmmm

Well Luis and I had a busy past couple of days:

Saturday - Reunion with our birthing class and meeting those cute girls!

Sunday - Family trip to the zoo

Monday - A walk around the mall with Tia Rin and a "date" with Athena, Alessa and Robert

I love that the weather is starting to get nice enough for walks and outside activities, I never realized how cold weather makes me a little stir crazy until I was unemployed.

We leave for Mexico in 1 week and I'm so excited that Luis gets to take his first big trip...I've got to remember to take a million pictures!
